Contract: I will send you a signed contract by mail, e-mail or fax. Please follow the directions on the contract, signing it and returning it with your deposit (see payment schedule below). By signing, we enter into a performance contract and agree to accept and abide by the schedule and terms described in this contract. No portion of this performance contract may be modified without mutual consent. I reserve the right to void any contract not signed and returned within 14 days. If you would like to see a sample contract, please click here: Sample Contract
Payment Schedule: A 20% deposit is required at the signing of the contract to secure the date of the performance. This deposit is applied to the performance fee. If the agreement is signed more than 6 weeks before the performance date, you will have a 3 day grace period to cancel the performance, after which the deposit becomes non-refundable, except in cases as described under cancellation (below). The remaining 80% of the fee is due by or on the day of the performance.
Deposit by mail: The deposit can be paid by check or money order. Checks should be payable to Kahlil Gunther and mailed to 118 Spring Garden Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098.
Deposit by credit card or PayPal: Click on the link to the left to pay your deposit using your MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express or PayPal balance. You do not need a PayPal account to use this payment method. Right before final checkout, there is a “message” button. Please do indicate your name, date, and location of event in the message box when paying so I know who the payment is from. Also, make sure that you enter the correct amount for payment.
Final payment: Payment in full for the remainder of the balance is due on or before the day of the performance. The amount you owe will be indicated on your contract, or we can e-mail this information to you. Many clients find it convenient to place the check in the mail one week prior to the event so that there is one less thing to worry about on the day of the performance. Also, if there is an event planner or manager that you are working with, you may choose to give them the final payment to give to me. Just be sure that it is in a sealed envelope and clearly marked. Of course, you may simply hand me the final payment on the day of the performance. I accept check, money order or cash, but please do not send cash in the mail. Checks should be payable to Kahlil Gunther.
Cancellation: In the event that the performer or performers become physically or mentally unable to perform due to unforeseen circumstances, I will arrange for comparable music for the event. If you conclude such replacement does not meet expected standards, all deposits are fully refundable. If, on the day of the performance, a contracted musician is ill or otherwise cannot play, I will employ a highly competent substitute from my preferred roster. If you wish to cancel less than six weeks prior to the performance date, the full stated rate will be due as I may have had to forego other booking opportunities on your event date. If there is an emergency situation which requires cancellation of the event, I may waive the balance. In the event of cancellation due to natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding or other similar occurrences, the balance will not be due and neither of us will be held liable.
Other information: ► For parties, receptions and similar events, I require one 10-minute break per hour of service. ► If I am playing for both your wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, a break may be required in between to allow for set-up of equipment. ► I need adequate shelter if the event is to be held outdoors, especially in inclement weather. I cannot play in rain, as water can damage instruments and electronic equipment. Most wedding venues and event rental services can provide a canopy. ► I will perform on a quality electronic keyboard if there is not a piano on site, and will provide suitable additional amplification if necessary. I will need access to a working electrical outlet within 10 feet. I have dark green extension cord that I use outside and a black extension cord that I use indoors, but either can detract from the event’s appearance, so it is best to have an outlet nearby. ► If you wish for me to also connect to a house system (so that music can be heard in multiple rooms), please be certain that house policy allows for this. ► Please also consider additional amplification requirements. For example, if I am playing for an outdoor wedding ceremony and you will need a microphone for the celebrant, I will need to know this in advance. |
