SERVICES
Recording I offer recording services at my studio and on-site for soloists and small ensembles. In addition, I am available as piano accompanist in the recording process. I have found that this service is of particular interest to singers and instrumental soloists who are preparing demos and audition recordings.
Accompaniment tracks (editing and/or creating) Dancers, skaters and gymnasts often need precise editing of their tracks to fit time and style requirements. I will prepare tracks that are precisely edited to fit the needs of the performer. Singers often need a track prepared for performances and auditions, but can not find the correct key or arrangement that suits their voice. I will prepare tracks that fit their voice and meet their exact specifications. Consultation can be via phone/email or in person. A good choice for vocalists is to arrange a session where I accompany them on the keyboard while they perform their song. The electronic version is then rendered through an excellent sampler program (Steinbergs The Grand) to create a very realistic piano accompaniment that precisely matches their performance. Existing recorded tracks can be transposed, cut and edited.
Transposing and editing of sheet music I can transpose lead sheets and full sheet music as well as create custom edits for auditions and audition portfolios. I can also create simplified reductions from musical scores This service can be combined with recording options to create matching rehearsal tracks.
FEES
Hourly fees Recording, at my studio or on-site: $50 per hour Creating accompaniment tracks: $50 per hour (see below for flat-rate options) Editing services, including transposing tracks, splicing and making cuts to tracks are $50 per hour with a $25 minimum charge (see below for flat-rate options) See below for flat rate options for transposing and editing sheet music
Flat-rate fee options Creating an edited track for dance/skating/gymnastics: $35 Straight-transposing of existing recorded tracks: One track: $25 Up to three tracks: $50 Creating a piano accompaniment from sheet music: flat fee of $35 per song Creating a piano/bass/drum track from sheet music: flat fee of $60 per song Creating a pop-style track of piano/bass/drums/synths: flat fee of $100 per song Transposing lead sheets (melody/chords): $15 Transposing piano accompaniments: $35 If you need further slight modifications to any of these projects, I dont charge extra once I have the track in my system unless further editing is needed.
WORK-FLOW and PAYMENT
Live projects require contact and planning for site and times. Editing projects can be handled via email or through live consultation. The fastest way to get the project done is to email me files with written instructions about the project. Please rip MP3s to 320 kbps before emailing them to me. If you have the option to rip the tracks to wav files (much larger files) and post them on a web server for download, that would improve the quality of the final product, but it is not necessary for most projects. The final tracks can be emailed to you or posted on server space for you and others to download. The final project can also be mailed on compact disc for a nominal fee. All fees can be paid by check or by credit card through PayPal at my web site.
